Capturing special moments through photography has been a passion since I picked up my first camera over twenty years ago. After ten years as a fine art photographer, I began working on small boutique photoshoots for friends, family, and particular clients to experiment with a different medium of photography and provide special, frame-worthy images they could appreciate for a lifetime.
There's a unique joy that comes with capturing the perfect frame, a moment of genuine expression. The opportunity to share in and record a milestone, document a family's growth, or provide candid portraits is a special honour, and everyone I work with deserves to receive the best images possible. My experience has provided the technical ability to capture these moments in a unique way, harnessing natural light to create special portraits of my clients in all conditions. Creativity is important to me, shaping beautiful, heartwarming and striking images; and while posed images have their place, the most genuine photos are often candid: a simple smile, a laugh, a meaningful look when loved ones interact.
Communication is essential to the success of any photoshoot. Whether a branding session, family portraits, or a full day of wedding photography, I'll let you know what to expect from me leading up to the session and share suggestions on creating the best images, providing direction throughout the session when needed. All my clients should feel comfortable sharing their vision and preferences for the type of images they'd like to create...whether a special pose you'd like to try, favourite image to re-create, or specific editing style; requests are always welcome! Searching for the right photographer for professional photos can be overwhelming, especially for first-timers. If you're feeling lost or intimidated by the process, I'm happy to meet prior to a shoot either virtually or in person and guide you through the process, sharing options & recommendations. While my style focuses on well-lit images with natural colour and tone, as the client your personal preferences for lighting, content, and mood take precedence.
